# How do I select Instant Ref Credit? (US only)

To select an Instant Ref Credit:

1.  Log into your [Ref account](https://www.thereformation.com/order-status?rurl=1) or create one using the email associated with your order, and head to the [Returns & Exchanges](https://www.thereformation.com/order-status?isReturnExchange=true) page.
    
    1.  Please note, that you’ll need a Ref account to start a return. You can create a password [here](https://www.thereformation.com/order-status?rurl=1) if you checked out as a Guest.
        
2.  Choose the order you want to start a return for and press ‘Start an exchange or return’
    
    1.  If you are outside of the return window, you will not see an option to start a return or exchange.
        
3.  Select Return for the item(s) you want to return.
    
4.  Choose Instant Ref Credit as your refund method.
    
    1.  To select Instant Ref Credit, you must add a valid credit card if you don’t have one on file. You cannot initiate a return for Ref credit without a credit card on file. If you already have a valid credit card saved to your Ref account, this step will be bypassed.
        
5.  Review your return and submit it.
    
6.  Print your label from the return portal and attach it to the mailer.
    
7.  Drop off your return to the courier on the label.\*  
      
    

\*Make sure to send back your return within 30 days of receiving your order to avoid being charged and/or to receive your refund. If you’re returning online, please only send returns using our pre-paid return labels so that we can track your stuff. We cannot refund a lost return that was sent using a method other than our return labels.

Please note all orders purchased with Instant RefCredit are only eligible for return for store credit. If you select Instant Ref Credit as a refund method, you still have 30 days after it's issued to request a refund back to the original method of payment. Once an Instant Ref Credit has been redeemed, we are unable to refund it back to the original payment method.
